Molly Peterson came to KPCC from New Orleans, where she lived after hurricanes Katrina and Rita. She came to public radio after UC Hastings College of the Law, interning for Nina Totenberg during the Clinton impeachment hearings. In between, she worked at National Public Radio, at KQED's California Report, and at American Routes. With Eve Troeh, she made a nationally-aired radio documentary about New Orleans called Finding Solid Ground.

She studied international politics and the environment at Georgetown University, and was fortunate never to take a law school class from her tough-grading grandfather, Raymond Sullivan, who taught at Hastings after leaving the California Supreme Court in 1977. She was also lucky enough to grow up climbing northern California trees and fishing eastern Sierra waters.

She's always looking for recommendations about where to take her (repaired) sea kayak. And for that matter, where to store it.
