Rita Pardue is KPCC's production manager. She has over 20 years experience in radio and expertise in fundraising, writing, presentation, production and media campaign expertise.
Prior to joining KPCC, Rita was KKLA's "Midday LA" host from 1998 to 2004. Her assignments have taken her to China, Indonesia, Japan and North Korea, where she was a guest of the state.
Pardue is also an actor, musician, and vocalist. Her credits include CBS film, "When The Circus Came to Town," PBS "Math Facts," and WB's "Unhappily Ever After" to mention a few. In the 90s, she was the voice of Mrs. Aahs and a host of other characters on Children's Broadcasting Corporation's "Radio Aahs."
She is the author of the children's book "The Nothing-To-Do Funshop," and a narrator for several of the popular "Hello Kitty" children's books. A few highlights from her career include singing with the original cast of "Jubilee" in Las Vegas' MGM Grand Hotel and performing with the Hollywood Bowl Easter Choir from 2008 to 2011.
Her volunteer work has included 16 years PTA, 5 years as 2nd Lt. in the Civil Air Patrol, 7 years Little League team mom, worship leader/praise band singer at her church, beach clean-up worker, Operation Gratitude worker, spokesperson for World Vision and Food For The Poor ministries.

Expect the unexpected and you might be pleasantly surprised in Studio G. I am every day. There are lots of outdoor concerts happening this summer. I am fortunate to be producing spots to highlight many of these talented artists.
Nice rediscovery today in Studio G. Houston vibe player, Harry Sheppard's music landed in my mailbox. It gets busy here producing spots for the different Southern California Public Radio departments.
Fridays are generally crazy-busy in Studio G. Today was no exception. Task at hand is to produce two underwriting spots for two upcoming concerts for the group Maleco Collective. I find when I'm listening to the various artists in Studio G, I start connecting with them on a different plane.

Fascinating day in Studio G as I was producing an underwriting spot for Grand Performances featuring Bassekou Kouyate and Ngoni Ba. Came across an instrument that I haven't heard in years, the ngoni.
It's another busy day in Studio G. I'm producing underwriting spots, previewing music, and finishing up some spots for the membership department. A production request from the underwriting department came in featuring Cloris Leachman's one-woman show coming to the Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga August 6-8.

Monte Negro is a band of bicultural and bilingual rock releasing the new "Fugitives Of Pleasure / Pasajeros" EP under their very own label, Feed The Hungry Records. The band is set to perform its highly anticipated new material at the House of Blues release party on July 23rd in their hometown of Los Angeles.
Every day is a different experience in Studio G here at 89.3 KPCC. My world is filled with all different genres of music. I'm producing a series of underwriting spots for the Levitt Pavilions Summer Concerts at Levitt Pavilion MacArthur Park in Los Angeles and at Levitt Pavilion Old Pasadena.
