89.3 KPCC Wins 16 Los Angeles Press Club and PRNDI Awards Including Radio Journalist of the Year
Tuesday, June 29, 2010 (Los Angeles) – 89.3 KPCC-FM and KPCC.org have won 14 Southern California Journalism Awards from the Los Angeles Press Club and two national awards from the Public Radio News Directors Inc. (PRNDI), racking up First Place awards for Journalist of the Year, Breaking News, Online News Series, Best Weblog, Investigative Series, Feature, Sports, Anchor and Interview.
For the fourth consecutive year KPCC swept Los Angeles Press Club’s Journalist of the Year category, with Molly Peterson taking top honors, Patt Morrison garnering 2nd Place and Larry Mantle earning Honorable Mention.
KPCC’s Newsroom and KPCC.org won First Place in the Breaking News and Best Weblog categories for collaborative coverage of the 2009 Station Fire.
