PASADENA – April 8, 2016 - Southern California Public Radio (SCPR) announced today that it has hired Elsa Luna as chief financial officer. Luna assumes the position on May 23, 2016. Luna will report to SCPR’s president, Bill Davis, and be a key member of SCPR’s leadership team.

Prior to joining SCPR, Luna was chief financial officer at Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP) where she co-led a strategic and business planning process to take LAUP from a granting organization to early education quality delivery leader. Luna was responsible for all financial aspects of a $100 million budget, and advanced the organization’s revenue diversification by launching a successful fee for service arm for training and consulting services.

"We're thrilled to have Elsa Luna join our team," said Bill Davis, SCPR's president. "Elsa brings a tremendous level of experience and sophistication in non-profit financial management, and her taking the lead in this area reflects SCPR's growth and leadership in public media."

“I am deeply drawn to the mission of Southern California Public Radio” said Luna. “I believe that my personal and professional passion and curiosity for news and information has led me to SCPR, which is positioned for upward growth. I look forward to contributing my financial and business experience to this amazing and dynamic organization.”

Luna brings over 20 years of experience in direct financial management and organizational development for non-profit organizations. Prior to joining LAUP, Luna served as the Chief Financial Officer of the YWCA Greater Los Angeles and Treasurer of the YWCA GLA Urban Campus Development Corporation.
