Pair receives Excellence in Radio Broadcasting Award during 12th Annual Local Impact Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles

PASADENA, September 12 – In recognition for their outstanding work since 2012, the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) presented Take Two co-hosts Alex Cohen and A Martinez with their prestigious Excellence in Radio Broadcasting award. Take Two is the most listened-to local program in Southern California Public Radio’s (SCPR) lineup and celebrates its second birthday this September. Through this award, NHMC commended SCPR for its efforts in diversifying its newsroom and its commitment to serving the region’s growing Latino audiences.

NHMC is a media advocacy and civil rights organization for the advancement of Latinos, working towards a media that is fair and inclusive of Latinos, and towards universal, affordable, and open access to communications.

Hosted by Alex Cohen and A Martínez, Take Two captures the spirit of the West in a conversational, informal, witty style that examines the cultural issues people are buzzing about. A two-hour newsmagazine that airs weekdays from 9 am to 11 am and is produced at SCPR’s Pasadena studios, Take Two is the most listened-to local program in SCPR’s lineup, making it the second most listened-to public radio program in Los Angeles, behind SCPR’s broadcast of Morning Edition. The program can now also be heard in Las Vegas at 88.9 FM KNPR.
