Talk of the City Host Kitty Felde to Broadcast Live from Washington, D.C. from January 24 through January 28, 2005

Pasadena, Calif. (Fri., Jan. 21, 2005) - The inauguration is over. Now the focus shifts to Capitol Hill where the 109th Congress gets back to work. And 89.3 KPCC's Talk of the City will be there. Beginning Monday, January 24 through Friday, January 28, host Kitty Felde broadcasts live from Washington, D.C. from 2-3 pm daily. There she will speak with several influential members of the California delegation including Democratic Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein, Representatives David Dreier (R-Glendora), Jane Harman (D-El Segundo), Xavier Becerra (D-Los Angeles), Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles), and Susan Davis (D-San Diego).

Several key themes will be discussed during the week, including immigration, transportation, homeland security, and bringing federal dollars home to California.

This program is supported in part by grants from Southern California Edison and from the California Community Foundation. Founded in 1915, the California Community Foundation holds assets totaling more than $550 million and manages more than 900 individual charitable funds. It makes grants to nonprofit organizations serving the communities of Southern California.

Kitty Felde has been named Journalist of the Year by both the LA Press Club and the Society of Professional Journalists. Talk of the City is part of KPCC's award-winning newsroom.

KPCC is also the fastest-growing public radio station in the country, airing the signature public radio news and talk programs from NPR, along with Air Talk with Larry Mantle weekdays from 10 a.m.- 12 Noon, and Talk of the City with Kitty Felde weekdays from 2-3 p.m.
