Another sexual abuse arrest hits LAUSD at Germain Street Elementary School

Another arrest has hit the LAUSD community.

Paul Adame, 37, a janitor employed at Germain Street Elementary School in Chatsworth was arrested Sunday for lewd acts against a child after a mother reported inappropriate contact between Adame and her child, said LAPD spokesman Cleon Joseph.

The mother went into Devonshire Area police station at about 3 p.m. Sunday to make the report and the Devonshire Detective Sexual Assault Unit will be investigating the felony allegations, Joseph said.

Adame was held in lieu of $100,000, and was released at 10:31 a.m. Monday after posting bail, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department inmate information center. He is due to be in court on Feb. 27.

Police will be holding a press conference at 2 p.m. in Chatsworth at the Devonshire Area Community Police Station.

Devonshire Area detectives want parents of students at Germain Elementary to talk to their kids about Adame and find out if they experienced any inappropriate behavior. Anyone with information is being asked to call the Devonshire Sexual Assault Unit at 818-832-0609.
