Thousands of people on 2 wheels for 7 days: Pasadena's Bike to Work Week underway

Pasadena doesn't mess around when it comes to bike master plans or when it comes to Bike Week, which is happening now.  And tonight is ladies' night

The schedule is packed. Last night they met in Memorial Park, down the street from KPCC. Wednesday night, the mayor gets on a bike with the rest of the city. On Thursday night, Incycle is offering free bike checks, and the New Belgium Brewing Company will be on hand to offer cyclists one celebratory beer.

And Friday's kind of my favorite. Hop your bike to One Colorado and get in on a free showing of Pee-Wee's Big AdventureThere's a lotta things about me you don't know anything about, Dottie. Things you wouldn't understand. Things you couldn't understand. Things you shouldn't understand. You don't wanna get mixed up with a guy like me. I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel.

Pasadena's long been fairly progressive when it comes to designating biking corridors and planning new ones. It's a good place to be on a bicycle. Just stay off the sidewalk if you're on two wheels. If you've got four, keep an eye out for the two-wheelers in the street. And lock your bike to avoid length evidentiary hearings with Pee-Wee & a pool cue.
