Automated emergency call system misses mark

About 2 a.m. Monday morning, a section of La Crescenta that didn't need to be evacuated got automated calls ordering residents to leave the area.

On Tuesday, Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich acknowledged automated emergency call system called the wrong residents and asked the county executive officer to review the system's effectiveness and flaws, said Antonovich spokeswoman Ali Navid. A report is expected in two weeks.
