Snowpocalypse Part Deux

The town is freaking out. Another snowstorm (number four for this southern town) is predicted to arrive sometime tomorrow or Saturday. Estimates are that we'll get another two feet of snow. Which is "close down the town" snow for DC.

Lines were VERY long at the grocery store and "how much snow?" was the topic of conversation on the Metro all morning. Workers had three skiploaders at work outside the Capitol, removing piles of old snow to make room for the expected new stuff.

FYI, this is the THIRD time a snowstorm has hit on a Saturday.

Stay tuned for pictures!

Snowpocalypse part deux day one

The snow started falling around noon. But it's warm outside, so nothing was sticking. Yet.

That hasn't stopped the locals from going mad. Traffic is insane, everyone trying to get home before the expected two feet of snow starts falling. Tried to get milk and vegetables at the market yesterday. Two different markets. The lines were out the door. Today I bit the bullet and waited in the checkout line for more than an hour. Luckily, it was the line near the magazines so I got a lot of reading done. And everyone is in a pretty good mood.

Now, it's falling heavier. The flakes are thick and falling fast. And they are starting to accumulate on the ground. They're predicting three inches an hour after dusk.

And every cross country ski in the region is rented!
