My favorite email subject heading of the week: "Colin Firth and..."

I'm a sucker for Mr. Firth.  So I opened it. 

The email was from activists pushing for instant runoff voting.  And apparently the British actor has signed on (along with John Cleese, Stephen Fry, Helena Bonham-Carter and others) to support the British version of preferential voting known as "alternative vote" or AV. 

Here's what their website says:

"The referendum is a once in a generation opportunity to change our clapped out politics for good. I’ll be voting Yes," says Colin Firth, who has recently won a Bafta and a nominee for the Academy Awards for his role as King George VI in the King’s Speech.
