American snapshot: Pasadena

Not sure exactly how to translate this sticker, but it's the most L.A.-centric version of the infamous running family highway sign I've stumbled on yet. It was in the window of a Kogi BBQ truck in Pasadena, next to a similar sticker featuring the family with a boy (no pigtails) toting a skateboard.

The running family highway sign has a long and storied past that begins in late 1980s-era San Diego. Since then, the iconic image has become many things to many  people, including a long list of artists and activists. I've been writing about it for years; read more about it here.
