Undocumented immigrants could get jobless benefits - Sacramento Bee A California Assembly bill proposes allowing recipients of deferred action - young people who receive temporary legal status under a new federal program - the right to state identification cards, unemployment benefits and state-run medical care. They will soon be allowed driver's licenses under a new state law.

California could grant special driver's license to US-Mexico border crossers - Associated Press Proposed legislation would offer a special driver’s license to California motorists who regularly travel to Mexico, with the idea of speeding up border crossing time.  

$1 million donated to Cal for undocumented immigrants - KQED UC Berkeley officials have announced that the university is launching a new scholarship fund for undocumented students on campus called the "Dreamers Fund." It's being seeded with a $1 million dollar foundation gift.

French parliament drops a law making it a crime to help illegal immigrants - Washington Post Although the measure was intended to crack down on human smuggling, aid groups that assist immigrants had said it unfairly punished those trying to help newcomers in need.
