Old Spice seems to have scored a touchdown when they tapped former NFL linebacker and current "Expendables" star Terry Crews to promote the new Danger Zone scent. And some might say they spiked the football when they used interactive technology to let the viewer use their computer's keyboard to play the wild drum set that is connected to the L.A. actor's bulging muscles.
In just a week the spot has been viewed over 4.7 million times on Vimeo. Internet! Indeed.
The spot was created by the same ad agency who two years ago made a star out of another NFL player, Isaiah Mustafa, who is now known as The Old Spice Guy thanks to the series of popular commercials, most notably "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like."
But perhaps the most overlooked connection between Crews' new "Old Spice Muscle Music" ad and Mustafa's is the award-winning director Tom Kuntz, who has a long list of ridiculously creative commercials under his belt.
