Happy National Pretzel Day! It’s the holiday so nice, it had to be declared twice.

It was originally declared 30 years ago by Pennsylvania Rep. Robert Walker, but guess what? It didn’t become much of a thing. Ten years ago, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell decided to give it another go and re-declared it.

Pretzelmaker is offering free pretzels to celebrate the holiday — they have 20 stores in California, plus more around the nation, which you can see a list of here. There are no locations in Los Angeles proper, but several in the Valley, including in Burbank and Sherman Oaks.

Of course, like most comedy nerds, my big pretzel association is pretzel day on “The Office,” where the residents of the Scranton Business Park get a free soft pretzel once a year. Watch the pretzel excitement and listen to Stanley wax poetic on pretzel day below.

There's also that time on "The Simpsons" when everyone threw their free pretzels at Whitey Ford.
