One man died and a woman was injured when gunfire erupted at a suspected gang party of more than 200 people on Sunday evening.
The shooting, reported around 8:20 p.m., occured in a Hyde Park home in South Los Angeles. Approximately 200 partygoers were at the home when authorities arrived on the scene.
Names have not been released. The male victim, believed to be 27-years-old, died at the hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the head and chest. The woman, believed to be 25 years old, suffered a shoulder wound and is reportedly hospitalized.
Investigators are trying to determine if more than one gunman fired, and what circumstances led to the fatal shooting, according to Sgt. Donni Ellison.
Witnesses are not cooperating with investigators, the sergeant told CNS.
