Officials say the 101 Freeway will re-open soon after 8am as police wrap of their investigation of a fatal officer-involved shooting that took place last night.
Police have yet to say if they found a weapon or if there was a weapon on the suspect they shot and killed after he jumped out of his vehicle Wednesday night. The 101 was closed after the shooting and traffic backed up as commuters were detoured.
Northbound lanes reopened around 2:15 a.m.
Southbound commuters were being detoured off the 101 at Ventura Blvd which continues to loading up with traffic. Less congested side streets are Burbank and Victory.
