Tom Petty is runnin’ down a guitar -- five of them actually, stolen from a practice studio in Culver City -- and the legendary rocker is offering a $7,500 reward for information leading to their return.
The guitars, belonging to him and his bandmates in The Heartbreakers, were taken last Thursday from a soundstage at The Culver Studios, located at 9336 W. Washington Blvd. Pictures and descriptions of the instruments are listed on the band’s official website.
The reward comes “with no questions asked,” the band wrote on its site.
The five missing guitars are a 1967 12-string Rickenbacker 360 and 1965 Gibson SG TV Junior belonging to Petty, a custom Dusenberg belonging to Mike Campbell, a Fender Broadcaster belonging to Ron Blair, and a 1967 Epiphone Sheridan belonging to Scott Thurston.
Anyone with information is asked to call Culver City police at (310) 253-6305, or email the band at email@example.com.
