File photo: LAPD block off the 2700 block of Raymond Ave. in West Adams as they investigate the shooting death of two international students from China attending USC.
A USC campus officer shot an an armed robbery suspect early Wednesday shortly after the suspect apparently demanded property from a group of students about a half block from the campus' sorority and fraternity rows.
The suspect, who was shot at 30th and Figueroa streets around 12:30 a.m., is in the hospital in stable condition. The students weren't hurt, the Daily Trojan reported.
Along with USC's Department of Public Safety, LAPD is also investigating the case.
The USC campus was rocked last week by the shooting deaths of two Chinese students in a car, who police said may have been the victim of an attempted robbery. KPCC has been following up on the shooting, including a story about how the campus is patrolled by security officers.
We're working on getting more information about today's incident and we'll update when we have it.
