Authorities are searching for a Burbank man who is also an FBI agent and has been missing since stalking off into the Verdugo Mountains two days ago.

Stephen Ivens, 35, is said to be “despondent and possibly suicidal,” according to NBC. He was last seen by his family Thursday night, and reported missing Friday, after he apparently walked into the mountains near his home on 1700 block of Scott Road.

Ivens also had a gun in his home that is now missing, police said.

Authorities from several different agencies are currently scouring the region, particularly the hills around Burbank, NBC reports.

Ivens works out of the FBI’s Los Angeles Division on Wilshire Boulevard.
