LAUSD elementary school aide arrested for alleged lewdness with children

Los Angeles Unified School District authorities say an elementary school teacher's aide has been arrested for investigation of alleged lewdness with children.

The school district said Thursday that Jorge Dominguez, who has worked at Gratts Elementary School near downtown Los Angeles since 2004, will be fired immediately.

Dominguez has been a temporary teacher's aide at the school.

The district says it is unknown whether the alleged victims were students at the school.

A Los Angeles police spokesman says no further details about Dominguez's arrest were immediately available.

A district statement calls the alleged acts horrifying and sickening and says counselors will be on hand for children and parents.

It was not immediately known whether Dominguez had a lawyer.

Correction: This story originally said that Dominguez was an after-school program aide and coach at Gratts Elementary School; LAUSD released a statement saying he was not.
