A wrong-way driver has died after smashing head-on into a truck on the 210, the California Highway Patrol is reporting.

A CHP official told KTTV that the sedan was heading east on the westbound Interstate 210 in Sylmar at around 2:15 a.m. Thursday when struck a UPS truck hauling two trailers. The crash caused the closure of all westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes. Two lanes were still closed on the eastbound side and one lane was closed on the westbound side around 7 a.m.

The truck careened into the center divider wall and one trailer rolled over into eastbound lanes. The truck burst into flames but the driver escaped.
