Voters appeared to reject a new tobacco tax, though the vote was still too close to call this morning, reports KPCC. There was also a major upset in the race for district attorney, with Chief Deputy D.A. Jackie Lacey leading the crowded field. Deputy District Attorney Alan Jackson appeared to be headed for the runoff, finishing 1 percentage point ahead of City Attorney Carmen Trutanich.

Three Los Angeles County supervisors easily won reelection last night, reports the Daily News.
