California Fish and Game officers tranquilized a bear Tuesday morning after he holed up in a tree in a San Dimas neighborhood. Residents first spotted the bear around 1 a.m.

"They’re aware that if you leave them alone they pretty much will go back up the mountain. They don’t generally want to be around humans. They’re looking for food is what they’re doing," said L.A. Sheriff's Sgt. Joe Bolaños.

No surprise, given today is trash day. The bear is being taken back to the wilderness.
