Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa appointed an interim general manager of the Los Angeles Convention Center today.
The former executive officer and chief operating officer for the Los Angeles Convention Center has been appointed interim general manager of the city asset.
Phillip Hill has already been serving as the acting general manager. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa made his appointment in a letter to city department heads. Before joining the Convention Center, Hill was executive director of the Quality and Productivity Commission.
“I am confident that Mr. Hill possesses the experience, leadership qualities and enthusiasm necessary to successfully lead the department,” the mayor wrote.
Hill is co-chair of the South Park Business Improvement and Community Benefit District.
The Convention Center’s previous general manager, Pouria Abbassi, left last month to take a job at Phoneix House.
