Early morning wildfire near Palm Springs contained, cause under investigation

Firefighters have contained a wildfire that burned 150 acres in the Southern California desert south of Palm Springs and destroyed one mobile home and an outbuilding.

The fire near Anza was 100 percent contained Saturday morning, with full control expected by early Sunday morning.

The fire was reported about 12:45 p.m. Friday at Cary and Tripp Flats roads in Anza, in the hills southwest of and above Palm Desert, but no injuries were reported.It appears to have been sparked in a storage shed, quickly spreading through dry vegetation.

Authorities say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
