Could Steve Nash be headed to the Lakers? ESPN thinks so.
ESPN, citing anonymous sources, is reporting that Phoenix Suns' point guard Steve Nash, two-time NBA MVP is headed to the Los Angeles Lakers in a sign-and-trade deal.
The sports network says an extra push from Kobe Bryant and the lure of staying near his family in Phoenix swayed Nash towards LA.
The Arizona Republic has more details, reporting L.A. will send "two first-round picks, two second-round picks and $3.1 million in exchange for signing Nash to a three-year contract worth more than $25 million."
UPDATE from AP: Nash is indeed going to the Lakers — his agent confirmed that the deal was finalized on Wednesday at about 6 p.m.
