Michael Jackson's nephew Tito Joe Jackson (TJ) has been appointed guardianship of the late superstar's children -- Prince Jackson, Blanket Jackson and Paris Jackson.
A judge's ruling Wednesday in a Los Angeles courtroom has the 34-year-old son of MJ's brother Tito taking over guardianship previously granted to the children's 82-year-old grandmother.
TJ Jackson, who sought the appointment, is not intending to permanently replace the family matriarch, his attorney said. The judge suspended Katherine's responsibility for the trio because she is in Arizona, and hadn't spoken with the kids in a number of days.
The latest turn and tumult in the Jackson family comes following a flare-up between MJ's estate executors and a number of his siblings, an altercation with sheriff's deputies at the kids' home, and a report that Katherine Jackson was missing over the weekend.
