Second-in-command Remington announces retirement from LA County Probation Department

The second-in-command of Los Angeles County's probation department, Cal Remington, says he’s retiring at the end of the month.
Remington, 65, served as assistant chief for the past couple years and helped lead the department during a still-ongoing investigation by the U.S. Justice Department.
The U.S. Justice Department is looking into allegations of misuse of force and poor oversight.
Remington told the L.A. Times he was not pressured to leave.
