Three men and a woman in Los Angeles have been convicted of conspiring in the 2009 killing of a teenager who was shot in the head hours after sending an insulting text message about the woman.

A jury deliberated for two days before finding Zareh Manjikian and Vahagn Jurian guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy. Free on bail during trial, the men were immediately taken into custody and are scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 29.

Two co-defendants, Hovik Dzhuryan and Kat Vardanian, who are brother and sister, were convicted of conspiracy.

Prosecutors say the four conspired to kill Gombert "Mike" Yepremyan after he sent an insulting text to his girlfriend about Vardanian, who saw the message and asked her brother to defend her honor.
