CHP says one southbound lane has been opened, but rush hour traffic has still ground to a halt. Thousands of cars have backed up about three miles in either direction, according to NBC LA.
The crash reportedly occured when a semi-truck hit the center divider and spilled diesel fuel across all lanes. CHP says that hazmat crews are en route to the scene.
