Over a dozen rescue vehicles surround the North Hollywood Red Line station to rescue a person who found themselves beneath a train Tuesday.
A man who was pulled out from under a Red Line train in North Hollywood Tuesday afternoon has died, the Los Angeles County Coroner said.
The unidentified man in his 40's was determined to have committed suicide, Lt. Fred Corral of the coroner's office told KPCC Wednesday.
40 members of the LAFD urban search and rescue team de-energized the deadly third rail of the downtown-bound track and used special equipment to gingerly lift the 82,000 lb, 70 foot car and slid the man out and onto the platform above. But soon after the man was rushed to Cedar-Sinai hospital he died.
