Members the Sheriff's Malibu Search and Rescue Team found the body of a dead woman in a turned-over sports utility vehicle Saturday in Malibu.

The team was scouting locations for upcoming training exercises on Mulholland Highway, approximately 2 miles east of Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas, when they discovered the body in the vehicle. The woman appeared to be living in the vehicle, Reserve Sergeant David Katz said in a statement.

A team member saw something white at the bottom of the canyon and other members made their way down the hillside to the location where they found the SUV on its roof, according to Katz.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
