The Los Angeles City Council has unanimously voted to consider a proposal which would give library cards to those who can't get driver's licenses due to being in the nation illegally.
There are an estimated 300,000 illegal immigrants in L.A. who don't have bank accounts due to the usual need for a legal ID to open a bank account. The IDs would include someone's name, address and photograph, and they would follow similar plans in cities including San Francisco, Oakland and Richmond.
