Temperatures reached 105 degrees in Pasadena Friday as a heatwave swept Los Angeles.
Sweltering heat will continue across much of Los Angeles County Saturday as a strong upper-level high pressure system will remain over the area, according to the National Weather Service.
Triple digit temperatures are expected from UCLA to downtown L.A. down to Long Beach, the service predicts. Woodland Hills could peak at 106 degrees.
Cooler weather should come Sunday although temps will still be much higher than normal, the Weather Service expects.
