A wildfire is forcing homes to be evacuated in a Shasta County community that was threatened during a bigger blaze last month.
U.S. Forest Service spokesman Arlen Cravens said the blaze broke out near Interstate 5 about 26 miles north of Redding on Friday afternoon and had grown to 200 acres on both sides of the highway two hours later.
He says a downed power line in the area may have sparked the fire, which is threatening about 20 houses and other structures in an area known as Lakeview Estates.
The same community was evacuated last month during a wildfire that burned close to 1,000 acres in the Shasta Trinity National Forest.
Traffic still in moving on 1-5, but it's down to one lane heading north.
