San Bernardino County authorities say 13 children were injured after a school bus toppled over in Victorville Thursday afternoon.
A California Highway Patrol officer tells the Victorville Daily Press that the bus driver apparently swerved to avoid striking a U-Haul truck pulling out of a driveway. In a statement, the San Bernardino County Fire Department says two of the children sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries. The other injured people, including the bus driver, were taken to the hospital.
The driver of the U-Haul truck and a passenger were unhurt. The school bus carrying about three-dozen children was on its way from Galileo Academy in Victorville.
