The Mojave Cross is back at the Mojave National Preserve after it disappeared two years ago. The seven-foot tall memorial honors people who died in war.

Caretaker Wanda Sandoz said shortly after she won a Supreme Court battle two years ago to keep the cross on federal land, it vanished

“We waited a long time for this and wondered if this day would ever come,” Sandoz said. “We’re just so thankful to the lord that it finally did come and the cross is back up and there for our veterans.”

The missing Mojave Cross was found last week tied to a post hundreds of miles away in the San Francisco Bay area.
