An explosion in an underground electrical vault rocked part of south L.A. this morning.

The blast shook Slauson Avenue in Windsor Hills just past 6:30 a.m. It blew a manhole lid into the air, and forced the closure of Slauson between Overhill Drive and Angeles Vista Boulevard.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Water and Power said it was unclear what had caused the blast, but that it didn’t appear to have caused any injuries.

Although the underground site did sustain some damage, no outages have been reported to DWP.

Crews are investigating what could have caused the explosion.
