A tractor-trailer collided with a tree Monday morning, spilling approximately 70 gallons of diesel fuel off a Beaumont roadway. Cause for the crash is under investigation.
According to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson, the crash was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. at westbound Highway 60 and Western Knolls Avenue. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
County hazardous materials and environmental health crews devoted one or two hours on the scene to clean up the spill.
No lane closures were reported, said a California Highway Patrol dispatcher. Traffic flow in the area is currently normal.
