Bodies in Azusa fire had gunshot wounds

Azusa Police Lt. Mike Bertelsen says the three bodies found in Thursday's house fire on N. Dalton Ave. had been shot.

It's not clear whether the two women and one man died from the gunshot wounds, the fire or some other cause. The L.A. County Coroner's office has not yet identified the bodies or determined a cause of death.

Investigators found guns, ammunition - "thousands of rounds," said Bertelsen - and gunpowder at the scene.

Two dogs and two cats also were found dead inside the house.

Bertelsen says police have been called to the house before after reports of "neighbor disputes, that sort of thing, but nothing of this scale."

Detectives with Azusa PD are investigating the incident as a possible arson. As of yet, they have no suspects.
