Police say a man who fired about 50 shots in the parking lot of an Orange County mall was cooperative when officers took him into custody.
Witnesses say they screamed and ran when Marcos Gurrola, 42, allegedly fired shots into the air and the ground Saturday afternoon at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. No one was hit by the gunfire, but one person was hurt running away.
Police say he didn't resist when officers arrested him. They recovered a handgun and ammunition at the mall. The suspect is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
