Man shot by Santa Ana police in critical condition
NBC LA
Detectives investigating a shooting by Santa Ana police search for evidence early Friday morning.
A man was in critical condition early Friday after being shot by a police officer in Santa Ana, police said.
Officers were notified of a man with a gun in the 3600 block of West Morningside Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. Officers went to a home at that location and found an armed man.
"He came out of the garage area with a gun," said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna. "He was ordered to drop the gun. He refused to comply. That's when the officer-involved shooting occurred."
The 43-year-old man was taken to a hospital. His name and other details were not immediately available.
