"The antisocial has become social," said Lower Merion alum and Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant via Twitter on Friday. It was the first tweet from his verified account.
By 6:00 pm, the basketball player's Twitter debut logged 324,000 followers.
The Associated Press reports that Bryant's stint running Nike basketball's account last week made him consider starting his own, saying he enjoyed connecting with fans "with no filters."
At 6.8 million, Heat star LeBron James has the most Twitter followers of any NBA player.
