Authorities cordoned off the area where a Metro bus hit two pedestrians in West Hollywod, killing one of them on February 4, 2013.
Los Angeles County authorities say one pedestrian was killed and another critically injured when they were struck by a Metropolitan Transit Authority bus.
The crash happened in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Boulevard, near Palm Avenue, late Monday night.
Los Angles Sheriff's Department Sergeant Andrew Bedogne says the pedestrians were hit while crossing the street.
"Both pedestrians were transported for medical treatment," Bedogne said. "But one of the pedestrians is now deceased, the other is in critical condition."
Santa Monica Boulevard is open for the Tuesday morning commute. The identities of the victims are not being released to the public until their relatives are contacted.
NBC LA reports that the pedestrian who was killed was an 81-year-old man, while a 50-year-old man remains hospitalized in critical condition.
