Freddy Krueger continues to gouge with the news that 1428 Genesee Avenue – the "Nightmare on Elm Street" house – has sold in Hollywood for the chilling price of $2.1 million, according to the L.A. Times.

With its blood red door, the famous home – featured in 1984's four-finger slasher classic (come now, even sleep killers need their thumbs) – is a three bedroom, two-story, "1919 traditional-style house" with an open skull kitchen plan, family freak-out room and wood floors.

As for its child-murderingred-and-green sweatered past, "apparently a poppy, hipster renovation will completely make up for the specter of any blade-handed dream-stalkers," notes  CurbedLA .

Whatever you do, don't underestimate how dark and terrifying this film is fall asleep.
