When they tell you to “go fly a kite,” that doesn’t mean you should fly one close to air traffic.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies had to remind a man of that on Sunday, after he was seen at the north side of Bonelli Park in San Dimas flying his kite straight into air traffic space from Bracket Field Airport.
The Parks Bureau deputies tapped the unidentified man on the shoulder and gently pointed out the “No Kite Flying” signs posted around the area. He claimed to not have seen the signs, and was “warned and advised regarding flying a kite into air traffic space” -- which is to say, he got off with a warning.
