Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood are the primary suspects in the March 31, 2011 beating of Bryan Stow in the Dodger Stadium parking lot.

Two men accused of beating Giants fan Bryan Stow nearly to death last year at Dodger Stadium are scheduled to appear in court this morning for a preliminary hearing.

Louie Sanchez, 30, and Marvin Norwood, 31, face charges of mayhem, assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury. They and Dorene Sanchez were arrested last July in connection with the March 31, 2011 beating in the parking lot following last year’s season opener against the San Francisco Giants.

Stow, 43, a paramedic for the city of Santa Cruz, sustained severe brain damage. His supporters say he still suffers from memory loss and other problems.

According to reports, the hearing that begins this morning is expected to last about four days, with 22 witnesses and several police officers called to the stand to testify. Ultimately a judge will decide whether there is enough evidence for a trial against Sanchez and Norwood.
