This German pointer named Hunter was rescued from a hot car in WeHo that also happened to contain large amounts of drugs and cash.

Sheriff’s deputies saw a dog locked a hot car in West Hollywood over the weekend and decided to rescue it -- and wound up discovering a stash of marijuana worth $24,000 and another $10,000 in drug money while they were there, the department announced.

It was a warm day Sunday when deputies went to the 1200 block of North Ogden Drive at about 1:30 p.m. in response to calls that a dog was locked in a hot vehicle there.

According to a Sheriff’s Department statement, “In an effort to identify the animal’s owner, a bag located inside the vehicle was opened, exposing several bundles of sealed marijuana” along with the cash.

The dog, a German pointer, was unharmed and given over to the county Department of Animal Care & Control. The drugs and cash were seized, along with the car they were in -- a red 1993 Nissan Pathfinder with Arizona plates.
