Inmate transported from downtown jail dies at Burbank medical facility

The coroner's office will be trying to determine the cause of death of an inmate who died while receiving treatment for an unspecified condition at a Burbank medical facility on Tuesday.

L.A. County sheriff's officials transported the inmate from the Twin Towers jailhouse in downtown Los Angeles to the valley center, according to the L.A. Times.

Paramedics from the Burbank Fire Department were called to the facilty around 5:15 p.m. when the man, whose name has not been released, was reported unconscious.
